Solo Exhibition Open Call

House of Nocturne | Permanent Open Call

House of Nocturne invites artists to propose a solo online exhibition showcasing a cohesive body of their own work.

As an independent creative space exploring contemporary, alternative and thought-provoking art, House of Nocturne is interested in work that communicates a distinct artistic vision, challenges expectations, explores identity or invites a closer look at the world around us.

We are drawn to work that is intimate, sensual, thought-provoking, unconventional or quietly provocative. This may include explorations of intimacy, desire, identity, vulnerability, the human form, kink, artistic nudity, alternative subcultures and the beauty of the unexpected.

This is an opportunity for artists to present their work within a dedicated online exhibition, bringing together a collection of pieces that share a concept, atmosphere, subject or creative direction.

We welcome proposals from emerging and established artists working across a range of disciplines, including photography, painting, drawing, illustration, digital art and mixed media. Other visual art forms will also be considered where they can be presented effectively within an online exhibition.

What we're looking for

We are looking for considered, cohesive bodies of work with a clear artistic direction. This might be an ongoing series, a completed project, an exploration of a particular subject or a collection of works connected by a shared idea.

We are particularly interested in work that feels personal, experimental, unconventional, atmospheric or thought-provoking. However, proposals are not restricted to a particular style, medium or subject. We want to see what makes your work distinctly yours.

Each proposal should represent a potential exhibition in its own right, rather than a general portfolio of unrelated pieces.

Submitting your proposal

This is a permanent open call, with submissions accepted throughout the year. There is no fixed closing date, and proposals are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

To propose a solo exhibition, please complete the submission form and include all requested information.

We look forward to discovering new perspectives, distinctive bodies of work and artists whose ideas deserve a space of their own.
