Collar Review: Fleet Ilya
First Impression
Hidden inside a beautifully branded black and white box, the collar arrived tucked away in a black cotton bag. The presentation felt considered which immediately elevated the experience for me.
First impressions of the piece itself: the leather is soft. The hardware is polished, catching the light beautifully. I love the subtle branding on the tail end. It adds just enough identity without disrupting the minimalism. It has the structure of a belt, but the leather remains supple, malleable. Even before wearing it, I could tell it was going to sit comfortably against the skin.
Fit & Feel
Fleet Ilya offer S/M, M/L, and XL sizing, so as long as you measure and follow the size chart, the fit should be reliable. Mine fits perfectly.
With a 12.5-inch neck, I chose the S/M. On the tightest setting, it sits very close and snug around the neck. I tend to wear it more for the aesthetic, so I prefer the second setting, where it feels a little more relaxed while still keeping that collar look. For me, it’s less about the constant reminder and more about the styling.
I’ve worn it on several occasions now, and it’s consistently comfortable. Thicker chokers can sometimes feel restrictive over time, but this never crosses into that space. It sits close without becoming overwhelming—easy to forget, in the best way.
Construction & Quality
Crafted from smooth saddlery leather with a clean, even finish. The hardware feels secure without excess weight, fastening cleanly and sitting close against the skin. Structured enough to hold its shape, but soft enough to move easily.
